This is the week of the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA US Nationals and it’s awesome. This is the first event on the NHRA tour in 2020 to happen at the correct location and on the correct date since Phoenix which was contested in February. Some people have complained and said that since this is the fourth event at Indy, it’s made The Nationals less special. I know that speaking for myself, I still have the same excitement, the same lack of ability to sleep, and the same knowledge that some 891 cars are entered for the race. My head is swimming for sure!
Because the Mickey Thompson Pro Bike Battle will be happening at Indy as well as the Jeg’s All Stars, the Dodge Hemi Shootout, and all the rest of the magic, I wanted some perspective on the event. I called up Eddie Krawiec and Tony Pedregon to give their impressions on the pro stock motorcycle class, the aforementioned Battle, and what teams are going to be able to get the job done at the biggest drag race in the world.
2020 is a stewpot of weird, Indy is the first normal thing to come down the pike for big league drag racing in a while and I couldn’t be more excited to see it for myself!
