We have to thank hardcore BangShift tipster Jim Smithson for sending us a link to the video below (on Thanksgiving!) because it completely blew our collective minds. Basically what you are going to see is a guy get smashed into by a motorcycle failing at the burnout and in turn, he gets launched like a rag doll. The dude flies through the air, ass over teakettle and finally lands in what looks to be a trash drum. He clears the barriers in the center of the track and everything.
We seriously hope that the man was not badly injured because between the force of the motorcycle’s impact on his body and the rough landing he had onto surfaces and things that are not exactly cushioned, there’s a lot of potential for injury there. On the plus side, this was an incident that involved one person (outside of the rider). Had this line been packed with 100 people like at a grudge are or something, the people would have been flying like bowling pins and inevitably someone would have been badly hurt.
If the dude that got his has recovered he’s as fortunate as they come. If he is still in the process we wish him all the best and hope that he is up and at ’em soon. It appears he is wearing fire pants in this video so we’re guessing he races something quick.
Lastly, if/when you are on the starting line or a race track you can never let your guard down. Stuff like this happens in an instant and it can change your life forever.
