Listen To These Old Diamond P Sports Music Beds And Smile Like Us!

Listen To These Old Diamond P Sports Music Beds And Smile Like Us!

So about a week ago I wandered into a YouTube channel that had virtually every awesome music bed from the old American Sports Cavalcade and Diamond P Sports days of television greatness in it. We’re talking just a pile of nearly 200 music beds that were used during replays and crash sequences. This is the good stuff and each one of them transports us back to our misspent youth on the floor watching shows on TNN every Sunday morning or watching various VHS tapes from that era as well.

So for you NHRA fans out there, keep your ears peeled. After I found a bunch of this stuff, I thought it would be a good idea to get it into the hands of NHRA media to perhaps use during our events. Well, they thought it was a good idea as well. If you are traveling to the Gatornationals or other events this year, keep your ears peeled for some vintage greatness on the PA system.

This is truly the music of our youth and whether you were a kid or an adult watching these shows, there are a few things you cannot deny. One of them is the fact that the music was perfect. The coolest fact is that guys like Sam Spence were among the names of music used. Spence composed a ton of music for the NFL over the years. One of his that was used is included below. This is awesome fun.

Keith Mansfield, most probably would know him for “Funky Fanfare” that was the coming attractions music back in the day.

Kinda cool how composers music can go just about anywhere.

  2. Eric O

On a couple of them I could just about hear the Steve Evans voice over beginning. Make announcing great again Brian.
