“Speed costs money…how fast do you want to go?” It’s the story for every last racer out there. All of the dreaming in the world won’t move squat, but if you’ve got plenty of greenbacks, anything is possible. In-between are those who spend the time to do more than order from a catalog, the racers who stretch every last dollar like it is THE last dollar, putting the money where it matters most. You can spot them every time…the car looks questionable, it certainly isn’t pretty, but when the lights drop the BS stops and what should have been a $2,000 Craigslist special hits the freaking road with a sense of urgency. It’s a story we preach non-stop here, that cubic dollars isn’t what’s needed to have a ball out on a race course, and that you can still be competitive. Plenty of people out there will suggest putting this Monte Carlo on the bottle or switching from a small-block Chevy to an LS. And later on down the road, those ideas are worth checking out, but here and now, it’s a naturally aspirated small block Chevy thumping down in Georgia and it moves out. We like it!
