Despite dire weather predictions, the people, the cars, and the racers all showed up to do battle on Saturday at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield. Yeah, there was a rain delay in the middle of the day but no one was recorded to have melted into a puddle, no one drown, and after it dried out, the track was faster than hell and people all had a blast. The swap meet was chock full of guys selling stuff and the Famoso Grove was also full of cars and trucks on display. In short, if you decided to stay home because of weather, you screwed up big time.
The swap meet is really awesome at this event and you can imagine why. Lots of vintage parts, old cars, and other stuff you just don’t see in other places is for sale. I once saw two guys nearly come to blows over and old carb out there a couple of years ago…at like 7am in the morning! It is heavy duty for sure.
