Matt Hartford Will Be Running NHRA Pro Stock This Weekend At The Mile High Nats – Watch His Wild Ride From 2013 In Denver

Matt Hartford will be racing NHRA pro stock this weekend at the NHRA Dodge Mile High Nationals outside of Denver, Colorado. Back in 2013 Matt had a bad ride in his Total Seal Piston Rings car during the same event at the same track. Facing off against Rickie Jones, his car got loose and because these machines lack downforce, it is virtually impossible to steer them with any authority once they get sideways. The crash was not too bad in the fact that the car didn’t turn over but any time a car gets into the wall at well over 100mph it is bad stuff.

Perhaps the most telling part of this whole thing is the interview with Hartford after the whole situation. His words regarding safety equipment and the importance of it when racing are pretty awesome. Normally you don’t hear a driver speak this honestly about the topic.

Hartford is a bad ass by any measure and he’s raced in a bunch of different series from his sport compact days to ADRL and of course NHRA. It was amazing to see him collect his first pro stock win earlier this year. Hartford has been in the thick of things deeper than ever in 2018 and that is a good thing. Fans have seen more of him on the tour and his increased presence has certainly kept the competition on notice. The pro stock world is wide open in 2018.

Can he grab some round wins on the hill? We’ll find out this weekend!
