(Photos by Joe Grippo) – We’re back with more fun images from the recent NHRA Division 1 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Maple Grove. Joe Grippo took the photos and this time he is highlighting the stock eliminator division, one that has been a strong point of racing in the Northeast since its inception in 1960. Guys like Grumpy Jenkins, Dave Strickler, and modern killers like Dan Fletcher have all come from this area. Not only are the cars fast, they are cool as well. Not just a sea of Camaros, you will find Fords, Mopars, AMCs, and other neat stuff jammed in here.
Maple Grove is cranking this season. The track has been going strong for more then 50 years and with some management freshening there’s a renewed fire in the belly of the place. Their season will be its normal mix of traveling events and self-produced racing action. The big NHRA event will be a little early in the year for 2018 as it’ll kick off the NHRA Countdown to the Championship. Got a long way to get there yet!
