Morning Symphony: Flat-Footing A Ford GT40 At An LSR Race!

Morning Symphony: Flat-Footing A Ford GT40 At An LSR Race!

We all have that one dream situation: before you is an open stretch of road. No cops, nowhere for one to hide, you have no budget limitations, and someone else is footing the bill for the fuel burned. What car do you pick? Meet mine. To be fair, the likelihood that I actually fit inside of a Ford GT40 is minuscule at best, mission impossible being more likely. But just look at the shape. Listen to the big Ford heartbeat thumping through the pipes. Bask in the bonafide anger of Ford the Second as he zeroed in on Enzo Ferrari’s ego, ready to send the Italian sprawling. Do I care that it’s a Superformance kit version? Nope. If anything, that’d be more encouragement to take the car to events like this. While the automotive romantic might be pining for you to drive out o Albuquerque into the sunset on Interstate 40 with the tach beating up the redline, an airstrip attack will fuel your speed desires over and over without attracting the attention of the authorities. Just have the picture in your head as the 427 begins to howl and we doubt anyone would be the wiser.

Anything designed and built with the single purpose to piss off Enzo is awesome in my book. The fact that it’s timeless, brutal and elegant, is icing on the cake. The angry Limey might even approve of this one, since it doesn’t have a (dreaded) LS.
