NHRA NGK Spark Plugs 4-Wide Nationals Pro Mod Photo Coverage – Eight Doors At A Time!

(Photos by David Whealon) – It was Jose Gonzales collecting his first NHRA Wally that made headlines but it was Stevie Fast Jackson who stole the final round show with a spectacular crash that left his car in ruins and him as the runner up at the 2018 NHRA NGK 4-Wide Nationals. The race was insane and it has followed the cut-throat curve of the E3 Spark Plugs category in NHRA competition over the last few seasons. Nearly 30 cars were on the property trying to make it into one of 16-spots for the eliminator that was contested on Sunday. The bump spot was in the low 5.80s and a load of great cars were left by the wayside after qualifying was over.

The pro mod fields and qualifying show have become among the best things that NHRA has to offer these days and we love every second of the wild action. The engines are all on kill, the drivers have an eliminations mentality in qualifying and do all that they can to save runs that they otherwise would not because of the pressures associated with just making the field. The competition is raw and fast and the fans love it. We know you’ll love these photos too!
