NMCA All-American Nationals Photo Coverage: Our 10th, And Final, Gallery Of Event Photos

We’ve got our tenth gallery of photos from Joe Grippo’s coverage of the NMCA All-American Nationals right here.

(Words and Photos by Joe Grippo) Ever been to an NMCA Event? If you haven’t, you should. Check out our coverage from the recently completed NMCA All-American Nationals held at America’s Dragstrip, Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

Along with the normal complement of NMCA classes there were also separate Cobra Jet Mustang and COPO Camaro shoot outs, featuring all the latest factory race cars and vintage examples from the golden age muscle era. A late model Hemi class was also contested and was stacked with the latest Drag Pak Challengers and SRT offerings. Another highlight for me was the F.A.S.T. group. F.A.S.T means Factory Appearing Stock Tire, the quick rundown on these cars is big inch engines that look concours correct wrapped in perfectly restored peak era muscle cars going mid 9’s on a tiny bias-ply tire. These cars seemingly defy physics, pretty mind blowing. The presenting sponsor of the All-American Nats was Tom Bailey and his Sick the Mag and Sick Week Drag and Drive Event. Tom got a bunch of the Sicko’s to bring some their rides out for an exhibition and join in on the NMCA True Street fun. Cool stuff.

The aforementioned NMCA championship classes included Nitrous Pro Street, Xtreme Pro Mod, NA 10.5, Xtreme Street, Nostalgia Super Stock, Nostalgia Muscle and Open Comp among others. NMCA recently started to feature NHRA legal Stock and Super Stock, much to my delight, and with Norwalk’s proximity of location and calendar placement, the NHRA class cars showed up in droves. A more serene area was the stacked manufactures midway and the very well attended car were bustling all weekend and afforded a nice respite from the on-track action. Check all photographic evidence in the multiple galleries.

Finally, what can be said about Summit Motorsports Park that hasn’t be said already, it is simply the finest dragstrip drag strip in the country. A clean, expansive, well-manicured facility staffed by friendly helpful folks and a great hooking starting line. What else do you need?
Be there in 2023, we will be once again.
