It was a great weekend in Fontana, California at Auto Club Dragway recently when the NMCA West series held their season opener and drew some of the hottest door slammers on the west coast out to the track. After years of popularity traversing the eastern and central parts of the country, the NMCA launched its dedicated west coast series a couple of years back and the racers have really responded, populating a myriad of classes and taking advantage of the organization’s stout contingency and sponsor support. Having spent some time with the NMCA crew in 2015 already I know that they are excited with the prospects of this year’s campaign all over the country, NMCA West included.

If you have never been to an NMCA event, you need to find the closest one to you and get it on your schedule. There are a wide range of classes that are open to anyone from bracket racers to pro mods, literally. This event featured heads up action ranging from the ARP 8.5-wide tire categories to Pro Charger Street Outlaw and everything in between.
