(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – We’ve done up 6 galleries of the LAST Ohio Mile meet for the ECTA.  To start off on highlights for this album we must mention the insane top speed of this event, 245mph, set by the 2008 twin-turbo ‘busa of Don Hass that looks like a prop from a Terminator movie.  With all the mechanicals exposed it is an incredible and brief sight with Shane Stubbs at the tiller.  Tracking a bike accelerating like this near the top end of the track is difficult.  We were also shooting through a haze which made it even harder.  Mike Arrington brought out his retro-tastic ’72 Challenger and blasted to over 150mph.  Seriously cool.  Jay Bell ran the Rydin Decal ’85 Firebird hard, but traction was not on his side so 219 was all it could muster.  Jay previously set the highest 4-wheel mph at the Ohio Mile we’d seen at 237mph.  Finally Shane Stubbs let his ’08 Hayabusa stretch its legs to the tune of 241mph and change.  Another ride with much of its ‘guts’ exposed.  Enjoy.
