We only wish we could have met the person who bought this car new. Why? They had to have been a character, right? Who walks into a Dodge dealer, sits down and options a 1970 Charger with a 440, a four speed, a Dana 60, the Super Track Pack, a burnt orange interior, and a Go Man Go exterior with a white vinyl roof? The life of the party, that’s who! This thing is the opposite of a sleeper. It is begging for someone to just come on up and try it. The good news for the owner of the car when it was new is that this machine was certainly capable of handling its business on the streets back in ’70. The bad news is that it could be spotted during the Apollo space missions and any cop within a 14 block radius would have a sightline on you. This is a color you can actually hear. Is that possible?
This car has been restored to better than factory condition and it is commanding the type of price you’d expect from such a hunk of Detroit iron. A little more than $60,000 is the asking price from the broker who is moving the car and frankly we’re not sure that they are out of line with that number. The thing looks absolutely flawless.
Bone stock and right out of the box this thing would run 14.1. That is not too shabby for a car of over 3,800lbs of curb weight. Some headers, carb tuning, and a set of slicks and you’d have yourself a machine deep into the 13s and if you wanted to get your hands dirty with a cam, here come the 12s. At this point in the car’s life, we’d just drive the hell out of it in the configuration that it is in. The machine has survived since 1970 so there is no sense in mucking up the works now.
So this is one of those personality test cars. Love it? Hate it?

One option to make it the ultimate Charger, the 440+6! Yes a Hemi would be better but not for me.
Needs to be jumped. YEEE HAAAAA!!!
No it doesn’t!
Needs a set of 15″ Rallyes to really make it “pop”. The whole poverty cap/body colored wheels thing just doesn’t work on a lot of colors or on 70 Chargers in general.
