(Photos by David Whealon) – Well we have finally come to the end of the awesome photos that David Whealon shot at the 2020 PDRA Carolina Showdown presented by ProCharger. This event was a great success for the organization that has been shucking and jiving with the best of them to get their 2020 season up and running. There was some early weekend weather in Darlington but the two days of actual competition were held under blue skies and warm temperatures.

I was thankful to be a part of the event and it was the first experience I had with the PDRA series. I hope it will not be the last as I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the caliber of cars and drivers I was able to witness at the Legendary Darlington Dragway. This gallery ends up with the winner’s circle photos, which is fun. It had been too damned long since I was last in a winner’s circle, seeing the smiling and tired faces of racers who had busted hump and succeeded on race day. That was a good thing for my heart and soul for sure.
