(Words and photos by Benoit Pigeon) – The second PDRA stop at Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) was also the last 2014 event for the series. Continuous rain forced the event to last an extra two days, but officials and racers were determined to declare the 2014 Champions with racing action and cancellation was not an option. To do this they took advantage of two clearing on Sunday and Monday evenings. The challenge was to finish the previous race that was also affected by weather. This was taken care of on Sunday. Incredibly Anthony DiSomma and team DDR managed to win both races within 24 hours with their red turbo Mustang.
PDRA will be back in 2015 with an additional two races. Look below the photo to see the 2015 PDRA schedule and make plans to catch the series if it is stopping by a drag strip near you. As you can see from these photos, some of the neatest door cars in the world compete in the eighth mile contests and with the freshman season in the books, more and more cars will surely be joining the action and more fans will surely be filling the seats to see it all go down.
