(Photos by the author) – Well, the 2018 PRI show is officially our rear view mirror now. After a few chilly days in Indianapolis we came away with a much better understanding as to where the industry is in terms of direction, in terms of health, and in terms of trends. So what were the overriding impressions we came away with? Firstly there are so many companies that make billet blocks for almost every engine family known to man that we were blown away. From Chrysler hemi engines to Mitsubishis, from Hondas to Nissan and Toyota, and even scratch built engines are becoming more common.
PRI has been and continues to be a very drag racing heavy show. That always kind of surprises us a little because with the size and scope of sportsman stock car racing out there we’d think that the entire place would be wall to wall dirt and asphalt oval cars.
