(Photos by Bad Brad’s Speed Shots) – For the fourth time, Northstar Dragway in Denton, Texas hosted what has to be the coolest freaking match race in the country and thanks to Bad Brad Klaassen we were there to bring you action photos and coverage from the now annual Pro Mod VS Fuel Altered shootout. With crazy quick three second eighth mile passes falling from the sky for both the fuel altereds and the outlaw pro mods, this one was a battle to remember. Ultimately it was Howard Farris in his real deal AA/FA claiming ultimate victory and moving the all-time score for the event to 3-1 favoring the fuel altereds. Now, not all the altereds were on fuel. Some were running alcohol and while they were not making the big header flames they were certainly making the elapsed time numbers that kept them competitive.

The word her certainly gotten out about this race and the goodness that is Northstar Dragway. We have been there multiple times this season to live broadcast events and we’ll be back there in the fall as well. The eighth mile drag plant in Denton has undergone lots of infrastructure changes and improvements, the place is always set on kill traction-wise, and while lots of people knew the track long before this event started, they have really created a destination race with this craziness.

We’re sure that the pro mods will be back in force next time with their guns loaded in an attempt to make one back on the fuel altered crowd. We also know that the can will be tipped hard on that side of the fence to keep the lead maintained and healthy. This is the stuff that makes drag racing so awesome. We’re very glad it is successful and growing!
