(Words and photos by Denver Nageotte) – XS power batteries Throwdown in K-town is now in the books! Mother Nature decided to show up Saturday afternoon and cut the event short, but she wasn’t early enough to stop the racers from getting in some Friday Night Testing and Qualifying. If testing was a preview of next year’s Throwdown in K-town then go ahead and get your tickets! The track was right and the racers where pushing their cars to the limit. Racers were reporting personal best times all night, like High Velocity getting their Supra down in the 5.0 range, Jeff Carpenter and the David Powell powered Radial Renegade Mustang putting up a personal best 4.83, Tommy Verbal setting the 4.69 bench mark for Radial Renegade, plenty of Outlaw 275 personal best dipping into the low 4.50’s, Knoxville Local “Turbo Tim” Kincaid
and New Jersey’s “Mustang Mike” Modesta both put down low 4.30 passes and David “Little Evil” Pearson right off the trailer set a new 275 track record at 4.13 to top off Friday Nights Testing and Qualifying!
