Ripping Gears In Georgia: The Street Nite Stick Shift Class At The Last Event Of The Year

This late in the season, you’d think that guys would have their racecars down for repairs, freshening up or would at least be so busy with the holiday season that they wouldn’t be focused on the cars, right? HA! Georgia still has useable weather and nice, cool temperatures. No way any racer worth their salt who knows of an open track is going to pass that deal up, especially if the race is paying out. This is the last race of the 2017 season for Middle Georgia Motorsports Park and they went whole-hog on the deal, opening up classes for anybody that showed up and wanted to run. That included a whole contingent of gear-bangers who specialize in rowing their own down the 1,320. The cars that ran the stick class were par for the course: Fox and later Mustangs, a Corvette or two, and a couple of F-body Camaros were chasing each other down all night. Not a bad way to shut down the racing season for the year!
