Sand Thing Is Our New Favorite Third Generation Camaro Ever – Dirt Drags!

The third generation Camaro is about as versatile a car as we have ever seen in the performance realm. Drag racing, road racing, autocross, trar conversions, and now dirt drag racing have all be conquered by the body style and chassis type that was a staple of the 1980s and early 1990s. These days the cars can be had for a song, although that is starting to change as it always does. More and more they are getting scarfed up and built with LS engines and high performance suspension products to make them a kind of budget pro touring king. That’s good and all but building one with massive paddle tires on it, demolition derby style headers, and a nitrous (we suspect) small block under the hood for sand drag racing is way and we mean WAY cooler.

This is the amazing Sand Thing and it is officially our favorite third gen Camaro in the world right now. The car is super clean and we have been able to dig up (see what we did there?) very little information on it other than the videos you can see below. The car seems to run in the 4s at the dirt drags and because know absolutely nothing about that scene we’re not sure if it is fast or not but it looks neater than hell chucking those rooster tails off of the paddle tires in the back. It is like a dirt loving pro street car, right? Did we mention it was a t-top car? So much win.

So what do you think? Is there a need for more cars to be made into dirt dragging specialists like this one? We’d love to buy a ticket and watch everything at the dirt drags in action by the looks of this fun!
