This Six Foot Long Land Speed Car Is A Piece Of Art Constructed Totally Of Cast Off Junk – Incredible

Thanks to BangShift reader Elky Guy we have this incredible piece of automotive art to show you. Built from junk, spare parts, and stuff laying around, the item is being listed as a “Speed Record Car” and why the hell not? It is part dragster, part steam punk, part lakester, and all stunning. Listen, we don’t feature a whole lot of “art” here on BangShift but this piece is totally worthy. The piece was built by Steve Lestat, an artist known for his sci-fi type projects and creations. It does not run, it does not drive, it is about six feet long and it weighs about 35lbs. In short, the thing is completely useless but damn if it isn’t fun to sit there and stare at. Are we wrong? The price is a shade over $3,000 which means that we’ll continue to admire it from the photos.

Absolutely unique 1/6th scale V6 Land speed record assemblage by science fiction artist Stephen Lestat. Hand built from found and re-purposed objects in aluminum, brass, copper, and steal while fitted together using only a drill, grinder, file, hack saw, and a hand tap. Over 1000 hours of picking and assemblage time using artifacts spanning decades, from airplane and hot rod parts, to antique lamps, and old typewriter pieces. An artistic blend of patina and polish with imaginative alternate universe technology with a Victorian twist, make this an exciting conversation and display piece for any one who appreciates fine craftsmanship and unique art. Not to mention a love for the automobile. Piece is 55″ L X 12″ W x 8″ H. 35LBS, She rolls and the front wheels can be set at angle for display.
