Southeast Gassers Association Action From Piedmont Dragway! Old School Drag Racing Greatness

(Photos by David Whealon) – We love us some Southeast Gassers Association action and we’re here to show you the latest photos we have from the series at their event held on the hallowed grounds of Piedmont Dragway. This eighth mile track has held some of the most famous door slammer racers and races ever with their famed “Big Dog” events that brought the world of southern door slammer racing to new heights over the years. It is a fitting place to see the coolest gassers on planet Earth ply their trade and do so in period correct form.

Quain Stott is not about making friends with the Southeast Gassers, he is about making sure that the organization stays period correct and true to the roots of what 1960s gasser racing was all about. His steadfastness in holding onto the old school rules has resulted in a series that draws dozens of killer cars to cool tracks all over the eastern half of the country and when they show up the fans come as well. They continue to set attendance records at the tracks they run at because people not only want to see the old school cars in the pits up close, they want to watch them in action with wheelies and jamming four speeds!

We’ll be back tomorrow with more SEGA action so until then, dig these David Whealon photos and enjoy the ride!
