The Cars Of Doorslammers 2019: Pro Mod Aston? AWD Camaro?! Yes, Please.

The Cars Of Doorslammers 2019: Pro Mod Aston? AWD Camaro?! Yes, Please.

It’s easy to write off England as a land of small cars, small roads and Range Rovers. I’ll attest that if England looks remotely anything like Scotland did when I was last there, the scene is small hatchback cars left right and center, and American cars standing out like gigantic neon signs amid the landscape. At no point ever would I have correlated seeing a 2005-ish Mustang on a motorway to the equivalent of seeing a Lamborghini Gallardo rolling through Mountain View, Missouri until I saw one driving towards the Northern Ireland/Ireland border. It’s easy to think that most of the automotive scene is centered around rally racing, or Formula 1, or small roadsters that are perfectly sized for the roadways. In reality, Britain can get down and dirty quite easily…look at Goodwood, look at TVR products, hot Jaguars, Astons, and just in case you weren’t certain, well…look at what 1320Video caught on their recent trip to Santa Pod.

Now…to be fair, this isn’t Kyle’s actual camera handiwork. His car got broken into and his stuff got stolen, which is a real kick in the ‘nads when you have footage of an all-wheel-drive first-gen Camaro hazing all four tires off and a Pro Mod-style Aston Martin Virage that is borderline heresy…loud, violent and awesome heresy. Happily, some folks came to his aid and you’ll get to see the machines he thought you should see from the Doorslammers 2019 event.

Nothing against the other cars, but that Camaro…damn.

No surprise that the Aston Martin was infected by an LS! Yet another example of a brainless moron going with the flow instead of slotting in one of RSW’s fine 7 liter DOHC Aston Martin V8s with two turbos – but that would take a wroking brain to achieve!

The aston has been about along time now.
Its actually fully street legal, and competed in the street eliminator class where cars have to be registered for what they are and compete with full exhaust systems on drag radials and have all the necessary equipment such as wipers to be legal here in the uk and complete a cruise to qualify, and used to have a big blower out the hood.
Recently it has ran into the sixes.
And regarding the motor, if it works, dont fix it. And who cares, its a street legal 6 second aston martin!
