The Farmington Quick 8 Reunion Was Awesome And We Were There! Door Slammer Perfection

(Words and photos by Benoit Pigeon) – The Farmington Quick 8 Reunion is a special event with great heritage when it comes to the roots of pro modified. Once a year, retired and active racers meet on a single day to revive and witness some of their favorite racing style. This year the Carolina Xtreme P/M organized the race, attracting  cars from Virginia to Alabama.

14 entrants showed up trying to get into an eight car field. They were representing turbos, blowers and the local traditional nitrous motors.  It was definitely the place for this later type of power adder but really not by much. In fact, veteran Tommy Mauney took the win by only .004s with identical reaction time over the blown entry of the Peedee Fleet team and their ’69 Chevelle driven by Tylor Miller.  Since the place was packed, the race perfectly timed with no delay of any sort, we are hoping to be back next year and get that feel of nostalgia going again.
