Ever see something, wonder what the hell you just watched and then watch it a second time? That’s exactly what I did on Sunday night while watching the Green Bay and Washington game. It wasn’t a play or a weird call that had me backing the show up, it was a television commercial for deodorant no less. Maybe many of your saw it at the same time that I did. I’m interested to see what you think about it. Personally I liked it because of the imagery, the dry humor, and the irreverence of the entire thing. The “streamliner” looked interesting enough and when the action sequences happen it is certainly enough to get your attention.
There are a couple of great one liners in this thing too. I’m not giving the plot away when I tell you that, “If you fill your brain with knowledge, then there won’t be any room for dreams,” is totally my favorite one from this ad. Between the car, the story, and the fact that Old Spice has been on about a to year clip with strange ads that literally grab your attention, we think they earned a spot on the front page today with this one.
We’re guessing they filmed it at El Mirage. Can anyone identify any of the rocky crags in the background or anything else to confirm that?
Yeah. That rocks!
That was… something. A couple quotable lines indeed. Had to watch it twice.
Dude never should have hired the chassis builder who made the Eclipse from the first Fast and Furious.
HAHA!
It may fall to pieces but it actually exists unlike Project Butthound’s bullshit powered contender!
That is still a full-scale model and a national embarrassment….
That thing looks like a modified Viper from Battlestar Galactica.
El Mirage, but tough to identify a particular hill. Production company is in Los Angeles.
What a great job, hilarious. See the cup anemometer on the tail spin, the tach and 1200mph speedometer needles bend at their pegs then the one actually breaks and falls away… Neato fake motors, seamless cgi, it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s not. Lots of that looks real.
They shot it in the Haskskeen Pan in south africa
mmm…yeah that Toyota truck doesn’t look so American…
We saw the same thing happen to a red Mustang in Wilmington last September.
