This car is BRUTAL! With a small block that can sing soprano and a four speed Lenco hooked to the back of it, the 9.76 second run being made in this video is certainly done the hard way but it is done the coolest way possible. In today’s world of easy access to power adders, there are not a lot of guys who are willing to throw their mind and wallet fully behind a naturally aspirated machine like the one featured here. Why? Well if the car had a mild big block and a mouthful of nitrous it would likely go this quick, but it wouldn’t be all that fun to watch it work, right? The dudes at Tecmotion, a Canadian performance and tuning shop decided to do it the more challenging way and we applaud them because this thing is 100% BangShift approved.
The run you are going to see was made at Medicine Hat Drag Drag Strip in Medicine Hat Alberta, Canada. They have been drag racing in that part of the world for decades on end and the track looks to be an active, nicely kept strip that serves the needs of racers and fans perfectly. It also appears that there’s not much worry about neighbors complaining about noise anytime soon. Wow it is wide open up there.
So the reason we think that this car is so brutal starts right at the launch. The thing comes out of the hole with huge RPM and about as violent a clutch dump as you can imagine. The Lenco slams perfectly into every gear and the sound of the engine is another aspect of the brutality. The tach needly basically stays in the vertical position for the entire run from the initial hit of the throttle until the stripe. There are several videos of the car in action but this was our favorite because the run is so nice and clean you can really focus on the car/driver.
To us, there is nothing better than the sound of a drag car once it has been pulled into high gear and the engine is working as hard as it possibly can to make the thing go faster and faster. Being that this is a four speed Lenco you will see it ripping along in high gear for a couple of seconds before the driver lifts and that alone is worth the price of admission here. What a neat car!
I wonder is it a 331 or a 347 ? or maybe a 351 . Good job .
Yeah, that’s pretty sweet…
Badass!!!
Jesus.
I thought it sounded rad in the burnout box….Then, all hell broke loose
