What’s this?! Drag racing actually happening?! Yes!!! The Throwdown in T-Town is going to happen starting Friday evening and running all day Saturday at Tulsa Raceway Park. Thanks to some great work by Todd Martin, Keith Haney, and Jimmy Bowles at Tulsa Raceway Park, in conjunction with the City of Tulsa and the State of Oklahoma, racing will in fact start up this week with testing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning and then racing starting Friday evening to kick off the Throwdown in T-Town. As the season opener for the Summit Mid West Pro Mod Series, plus a variety of radial, pro street, big tire, and bracket classes, we know the car count will be high and the action hot.
In order to hold the event, reduced spectator counts are required, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get FREE TICKETS at TulsaRacewayPark.com, and various local Tulsa stores. And to prove that safety is the goal of this event, all track staff will be wearing gloves and masks, sanitation procedures will be executed, social distancing will be required in the spectator and racer’s areas, and very specific regulations will be enforced in conjunction with CDC, State, and City guidelines.
