One of the most impressive cars we have ever laid eyes on has done it again. The famed Tooth Jerker Dart has reset its own leaf spring drag racing record with a 4.19/184mph pass during the 2017 Outlaw Street Car Reunion in Memphis, Tennessee. The car reset its own blazing 4.24 number from Lights Out 8 and left pretty much everyone in the place, including their own crew stunned.
There’s something really special happening with this particular team. You have a driver and owner along with a crew that is working in total synch with the same goals and the result is the mechanical poetry you see here. The car ON LEAF SPRINGS works insanely well and is actually qualified damned near the top of the sheet in the Limited Drag Radial field in here in Memphis.
Congrats (again!) to Jason Digby, Lyle Barnett, and the entire crew. The best part of this video is the fact that Digby was concentrating so hard on keeping his camera still that he had no idea what it ran. When he gets told that it went into the ‘teens, his reaction is priceless.
This thing is amazing and we loved it when it first went 20s, we loved it when it first went ‘teens, and we’re going to love it when the car goes into the ohs because if you think they are done now you’re dead wrong.
That is a badass Dodge Dart!
Rear gear change sure helped.
Leaf spring radial mopar setting records. Love it.
His reaction is AWESOME!! Wish we had top end video. According to Kruck, he could hear Lyle screaming from inside the car when he came around the corner. Car is awesome, guys are awesome, story is awesome….It’s just so awesome.
