There’s Pontiac Unobtanium For Sale On eBay! 2×4 Pontiac Super Duty Intake And Carbs

You know we love rare muscle car parts around here and they don’t come much more rare than legit Pontiac Super Duty stuff. Not the 1970s Super Duty stuff but the early 1960s equipment that was designed quietly and put into the right hands to revive Pontiac’s image as a stodgy brand for old people into a performing powerhouse that would capture the drag strips, hearts, and minds, of America. 1961 was the first year for people to be able to buy Super Duty equipment from select dealers. 1962 and 1963 saw limited production runs of Super Duty cars that were bought by racers and again, landed in the hands of the movers and shakers that the brand wanted.

We believe that this intake is a 1962-1963 piece and as such is likely one of around 200 ever made, likely less. Because of the Pontiac engine’s insane interchangeability, you could plunk this onto virtually anything with an actual Pontiac V8 in it. From a 326 (why?!) to a 389 (ok) to a 421 (YESSSS) and on up. The seller said that he got the piece and bolted it onto a GTO that he had before getting rid of the car and keeping the intake. The asking price is $5,000. Now we’re not sure if the cars are the right ones for a Super Duty car or not but they are apparently a matched set, although the meaning of that is kind of open.

If you are a Pontiac fan, someone who is restoring a Super Duty Pontiac from the early 1960s or someone who just knows that they are going to win the lottery and wants to build a car around this intake, act now! Someone is going to find this and snag it. It won’t be any cheaper next time!

Had a chance to buy just an intake for a $1000. Still not sure why I didn’t get it? Those are RA V heads in the back ground, more Pontiac unobtanium! Air cleaners are not SD correct.

That’s a late 62 or 63 intake. Sold it’s brother (or sister or cousin) to Randy Williams back around 1985 for less than $250.00. He was happy, I was happy. Wish Randy was still around though. Very cool car guy.
