The American Powertrain Parting Shift: Watch This 1,400hp GT350 Run 9.07 With A Stick!

Turbochargers are like fire. Man’s best friend and his worst enemy. We love them for what they can do in terms to making horsepower and impressive performances and we hate them for what they can do to basically any form of automotive competition that they show up at. This being said, videos below are one of the reasons to love them. You are going to watch the Fathouse Fabrication GT350 run 9.07/161mph with a stick shift in it and a twin turbocharged version of the 5.2L flat plane crank V8 which powers it from the factory. The 8s? Yeah, they seem to be on the way really quick.

It is truly amazing to see a car like this nearly touch the 8-second zone because of how smoothly it launches and runs down the track. Modern developments in technology make managing the tire and the power possible to a point where this thing does not even seem like it is that hard on driveline parts leaving the starting line. The shock loads of gear changes may be the most violence the axles and transmission sees as the car proceeds down course.

You’ll live this run through multiple angles. Behind the car, on the car, and our favorite, in the car. This is one amazingly impressive car and we’ll be looking for their 8-second run soon!

Press play below to see the Fathouse Fabrication GT350 get it done in 9.07!

Clutch hit controllers are still somewhat of a secret. When you see a stick car that dead hooks the launch consistently, it probably has one somewhere in the system. There are good ones and not so good ones, with a good one that car should be running low 8\’s.

I would assume they must have it turned way down on this hit. 1400 HP would trap way higher than 161. Modern technology is pretty amazing.
