This video was shot back in March at a car show in Arizona and it features a mean looking green Dart Sport drag car pulling onto the dyno. With wheelie bars, a parachute, and a whole bunch of slick under it, this thing sure looks the business but does it have the suds to back up the look? Turns out that it does. You will see the car make three screaming pulls and then the final numbers are revealed.
I am not sure what it is but since the Hellcat came and went I have been more and more obsessed with green Dodges. I guess I should be glad that the thing was not pink, right? Anyway, this is a nice, clean looking car. We like the fact that it has steel bumpers hanging off the ends, factory window trim, and you will see the factory grill is in it as well. There’s nothing wrong with shaving weight and doing anything you can to go quicker but when someone takes this level of care with a car it needs to be noted.
The one thing we do not have are engine specs. Judging by the sweep of the pulls and the power (especially the torque!) that the engine makes, we are figuring that it has to be a stroker big block of some sort. Maybe a 500? 512? There’s no visible purging of the nitrous or any whine to indicate a centrifugal blower like a ProCharger or something so we are thinking that this engine is doing it the old fashioned way with big heads, a big cam, lots of compression, and cubic inches. You’ll see the wheel power numbers and when you do the math for the crank, this thing is really making some suds!
I wish my ’73 Dart Sport looked and ran like that when I had it in the mid ’80’s.
I want to say that Dart is from Hermosillo Mexico. Races in Tucson AZ a lot. I believe that family has an identical Dart in plum crazy purple. Them cars are super clean and run hard!!!
