This Guy Knows How To Make An Entrance! Water Plus Burnout Equals Unplanned Stunt Driving

Any time a drag race encounters water past the water box it usually doesn’t end well and as you have already figured out by the lead photo things are not going to plan for Australian drag racer Peter Donchos and his really sweet Mazda 1300 wagon. The little rotary powered car certainly has some horsepower because Donchos is just ripping the tires off the back when the car starts to pitch sideways just a hair. As he goes to correct you can see the fluid pouring out of the front of the car and ultimately onto those big rear slicks. As soon as he lifts the car digs in a little and despite his best effort it gets up onto its side and slides down the track, ultimately landing on its wheels with a thud.

The driver’s side door won’t open so we see Donchos climbing out the passenger side with a little help from his crew guy. The car does not look that badly messed up and to be honest the roll was really gentle. Hopefully some body work and a check of the front suspension (as well as curing whatever that leak was) will have the car back on the track. We don’t know about you but that thing looks pretty awesome and we bet it can really lay down a number when the sticky side stays down!

All the best to the team in getting that wagon up and at ’em again. We’re not huge rotary fans but if someone handed us the keys to that we would NOT turn  them down!!

    Automotive Reactionary Syndrome, or A.R.S
A term used to describe a car’s sudden awareness of what engine note is being produced. A sad condition that is becoming more and more common.
