You know Stevie Fast as a racer but how about as a guy around the shop. Can he do anything? Is he just a person that hangs onto the steering wheel and lets go of the button? The answer is that yes he can do stuff and no he is not just a guy letting go of the button. This video is proof that Stevie Fast is a hands-on hot rodder like the rest of us are. Yeah, he has a bigger shop than most and yeah, he has the tools we all want to have but at base, he’s the same dude that walks out into his garage with an idea and the gumption to make it happen.
This video is about Stevie creating a specific tool for torquing down the heads on his 3,000+ hp blown alcohol engine that powers the Camaro pro mod he drives to elapsed times of less than 5.7 seconds in the quarter mile. It is not the most advanced process in the world but it is a fun one to watch while he is walking it. This video takes some time, it does not hide its blemishes, and overall we think its a pretty neat representation of what goes on in a race car shop on a day to day basis.
Check this out and let us know what you think. This ain’t F1 levels of sophistication but we dig watching a pro level racer wrench on his own stuff.
