Trackhawk What? This Jeep SRT Goes After The WK2 Record!

Am I still drunk on hearing late-model Mopar engines at full song? Yep, and I’m not the least bit sorry about it either. Hearing all sorts of seriously built screamers tear the backside out of the strip always helps my soul, but one thing did seem lacking at this year’s ChallengerFest: pressurized Jeeps. OSTDyno had their red mist-spewing Grand Cherokee blasting down Beech Bend, but they looked kind of lonely compared to the past couple of years.

Pressurizing SRT-enhanced Jeeps doesn’t seem like a solid plan at first. Taking a heavy SUV and throwing everything you got at it to run the quarter doesn’t add up…on the surface, anyways. In real life, the back squats, the front lifts, and two and a half tons of mall crawler suddenly takes off as if it’s hooked to the launch system on the deck of an aircraft carrier. And we aren’t talking absolutely gutted, nothing-left-inside builds, either…most Jeeps we see could theoretically be street driven, and still have the plates on. Now, if you could just convince your significant other that turbochargers are absolutely vital for your engine to run at it’s most optimal…
