Wanna get famous? Pay the $2500 asking price for this 1968 Valiant, finish it and then take YouTube videos on the race track running ridiculous elapsed times and laugh your way to internet hero level treatment. This car is awesome and the only thing we’d want to change (and it would take some really creative fabrication skills) would be the hood stack style exhaust. That’s the only giveaway that this car has and as we all know, holding your cards as close to the vest as possible is what it is all about in the world of sleeper-dom.
The four door body style is spot on. The roof rack is pure genius, and the poverty caps on the steel wheels are right out of the text book. The engine has 426 Max Wedge style valve covers on it but we’re not sure what the actual displacement is. We’re guessing that it is a 440 but it could be a 383. Either way, who the hell cares? This is a big block with a single GT45R ball bearing turbo that is capable of supplying enough wind to support close to 1200hp. We’re not saying that it is making that much but it has the charger for it.
YES. THE PRICE IS $2500 — BUY THIS, DAMN IT!
We’ll not waste your time with our babble. Here’s the text of the ad:
Turbocharged big block plymouth valiant. RUNS but needs finished. Project car. Engine was freshened up before I installed it in the car, new oil pump, bearings, oil pan, complete valve job and resurface on the heads, brand new performer rpm intake manifold, msd box, one off turbo kit. I built the turbo kit from scratch, gt45r turbo. you cannot buy this kit anywhere. The motor DOES run!! Carries 60-70psi oil pressure. Still needs a radiator, shifter, and a driveshaft( comes with driveshafts that need to be welded together) $2500 cash or possible trade for a bobber or another hotrod, c10 old f1 or f100, street bike, rocket, enclosed trailer. let me know what you have.
We’ve got a couple photos below, but hit the link to see them all and get the seller’s contact info. The car is in Ohio!
The engine/trans is worth the price of admission alone. I agree the tractor exhaust needs to go, but that is not a reason to really consider this sleeper.
After taking people’s money at grudge match races and collecting Youtube ad money for your videos of beating up on guys at the track in spectacular fashion playing a bazillion times over, you should have enough dough to find a better home for that engine combo.
I can see why he ran the exhaust out the hood – a big block A body is pretty cramped, and the inner fenders are structural. Still, it would be worth the effort to find a way to get the exhaust out a more normal direction.
Mines a 70 dart 383 with twin turbonetics, it was a plumbing nightmare and 2 years of head scratching but she rolls out this summer!
If my wife sees this ad, I’ve got $$$$$ explaining to do . . . . #spent too much on turbo car
Is it just me, or is the turbo only driven off of the drivers side?
It has a crossover pipe from the passenger side. It runs down the pass. fenderwell, under the core support and up into the turbo. It’s my car
That thing screams DRAG WEEK.
Really like the car and the awesome sleeper-ness but wtf with the exhaust??
does the wagon and the ski rack come with?
genius start–needs to be finished–if on left coast I would be trying to buy it–(like odd stuff)
