Turn-Key Tens With License Plates: This 2000 Chevrolet Camaro SS Is Ready To Go!

Turn-Key Tens With License Plates: This 2000 Chevrolet Camaro SS Is Ready To Go!

The dream factory hot rod of my high-school years was a “catfish” Camaro Super Sport. Fourth-gen F-bodies trumped Mustangs, I didn’t want a truck so the Lightning was out, and I hadn’t yet figured out that the supercharged GM W-bodies were something to even consider. It had to be a Camaro SS so that you got the power, the suspension, the tall spoiler, and that simple scooped hood that looked better than the Trans Am’s multi-nostril affair did. Hello LS1, hello six-speed manual…all you needed to do was to pick what color you wanted. Did I want black with the red-trimmed logos, or did I want champagne with black logos and the blacked-out tail? Either way, I’d be content.

This Super Sport haunts Las Vegas and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it run once. I’d have to go digging through my archives to be 100% certain, but a 10.80-capable Camaro with plates on it is something you tend to remember.

Car runs 6.90’s @98 MPH 1/8 mile – 10.80’s @ 123MPH 1/4 mile with 175 LBS. driver through the mufflers. 1.47 60′ – 91 Octane Pump Gas

Hooks hard and goes straight every time – great car for a beginner drag racer or entry level bracket car.

408 LS2 Stroker with Trick flow heads (15) passes since freshened. Turbo 400 with Rossler Brake serviced the same time as motor. 9″ Ford – new front brakes, new M/T 10.5 28 15 and new M/T front runners. Full interior with cage, power brakes, power steering, power windows.

This car is deadly consistent and a blast to drive…
