Unlucky: A Compilation Of 13 Major League Drag Racing Crashes From Urban Hillbilly Action Video

Sean Melton at Urban Hillbilly Action Videos went face first into his massive archive again and came up with 13 spine tingling, weird, and altogether nasty wrecks from his extensive collection of footage. These crashes are all from a few years back as you will see several from ADRL races and a couple of the cars involved have not been raced in some time (if we’re remembering right). There’s a couple of themes that pop up in this one. The first is wrecks very close to the starting line.

In one piece of footage taken at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park, a 1957 Chevy pro mod breaks an axle about 60′ out and turns dead left smashing the wall and then making a banana shaped turn before striking the other wall. The famous Cannon family Studebaker eats the wall close to the launch pad at Rockingham, and there are a couple of others, too.

The top end wreckage is gnarly in this one as well. A couple drivers make incredibly valiant efforts to stay off the wall only to be rewarded with scuffed paint and busted cars. Bill Clanton’s crash in the Studebaker (with the eagle on the nose) is bizarre because the car gets up on the door and literally stays there until it skids to a stop.

You’ll see Orlando Speed World, SGMP, Rockingham, and several other tracks in here as well. Racing these cars IS NOT easy and this video is living proof of that. We bet a bunch of these drivers were very sore come the morning after their “performances” we sure know that their wallets were.
