US-60 Drag Strip Spring Nationals Show and Shine Photo Coverage – Not All Of ‘Em Shine But They Are All Neat!

US-60 Drag Strip Spring Nationals Show and Shine Photo Coverage – Not All Of ‘Em Shine But They Are All Neat!

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Nostalgia drag racing and some show-n-shine normally accompany each other and the Nostalgia Nationals is no different.  One thing US-60 does is allow the cars entered in the show to make passes and many do.  This gallery covers that stuff and also some of the vehicles we saw in the parking and pits.

The Anglia was way down by the timing shack and was a recent falling down, single-car-garage find.  The new owner has it running and planned to correct problems so that it can be driven and raced while attempting to keep as much of this altered as original as they can.  I was told it had been sitting for about 50 years.  If/when we see it again we’ll give updates and get more of the backstory.

We always enjoy walking through the show area, the pits, and even spectator parking at US-60.  The variety level is high and there will always be something interesting.

We hope you liked the coverage from our solitary visit to Hardinsburg in 2018.  We’ll do our best to get out that way more often in 2019.
