US60 Nostalgia Nationals Coverage – Test and Tune/Car Show Action – Runs For Fun

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – The car show.  Any car in the show can make passes.  Some do and some don’t.  Lots of cool cars showed up and we somehow managed to get a few photos of them during the racing.  Lots of good stuff in here.  Lots of cool muscle and classics.  The SC Rambler appeared to be in original paint and was looking every bit as a true survivor.

The white Galaxie looking like a lightweight had the right wheels, stance, and sound.  The D50 was actually in the spectator area, but how often do we get to take a photo of those.  Now that I’ve mentioned just a few….we ought to discuss the elephant in the show.  This burgundy Plymouth Fury sporting late-model hemi power pressurized by twin turbos.  This car is finished nicely and has a deceptively-quiet exhaust note.  It’s a runner and is street-driven.  I think they are still tuning and working the bugs out, but it has AC and is such a treat for the eyes.  It’s also not another LS-swap.

Enjoy.
