Best Of 2014 Video: Big Tire Nova Does The Longest Power Wheelie You’ve Ever Seen (We Promise!)

(By Jason Sands) – With the advent of tire-limited racing, it’s not uncommon to see fast drag cars teeter on the back wheels for hundreds of feet before setting it down and rocketing off to unbelievable times. Then of course, there’s the Byron wheelstand contest, where some folks go vertical, while others carry the tires for an 1/8th mile or more. This is different than all that.

Other than a purpose-built rear-engine wheelstander, we’ve never, ever, seen a wheelie this long. The “Big Bad Nova” in this video picks up the front wheels almost to the bumper, and then maintains that height for damn near the entire quarter mile. Yup, nearly a FULL QUARTER MILE on a power wheelie! The video has to be seen to believed, and other than a cricket that’s determined to ruin it (you’ll see what I mean when you watch it), it’s one of the baddest pieces of wheelie action on the Internet today.

Check out the cone-killing awesomeness here!
