Watch Chuck Little Pull Off The Greatest Single Round Upset Of The 2017 NHRA Pro Mod Season

I have been thinking about great runs and great rounds of competition from the last year as we approach 2018 and the one captured on video below is one of my favorites. You are going to see 72-year old Chuck little in his blown Corvette take down defending NHRA pro mod champ Rickie Smith in the greatest single round upset of the 2017 NHRA pro mod season. THIS is why drag racing keeps me awake at night staring at the ceiling!

Little’s program made great strides in 2017 and by the end of the year the team was qualifying with regularity and running the types of competitive numbers in the five second zone and you have to run to survive on the tour and actually go rounds. Little’s driving also improved through the season and this moment was truly a capper of the New Hampshire based team.

It was great to watch those guys make the run down in the 5.80s to get into the field but it was truly awesome to see this run shape up and take place. Dan Page is the crew chief on the car and as best I understand the Odd Job Corvette will be back in 2018 with fresh parts and a competitive attitude in what has turned into the most electrifying category of competition that NHRA heads-up drag racing has to offer.

Oh, and sorry for having a brain aneurysm during the call…I was a little excited.
