Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park (formerly Norwalk Raceway Park) in Ohio is one of the fastest, nicest, and hardest hooking drag strips in the country. We’ve been there back when it was the IHRA’s home track, after NHRA took it over, and we’ve even spent a week there for the awesome and infamous Halloween Classic that the Bader family puts on every year. The driver of the Pinto in this video got a first hand taste of just how good the traction is in Norwalk when he dropped the hammer on his wee Ford.
As you will see in the video, the car goes into what has to be close to a near vertical wheelie and the driver 100% dumps the throttle. As the front end heads towards an express meeting with the track surface, it sounds like the guy tried to jam the throttle at the last second to no avail. The car lands like a wrecking ball and hits so hard that the camera is jarred into a lower position. The driver seems to keep the throttle buried through the traps even through the description on the video says that lots of parts were bent in the front end. That either makes this guy dedicated or a complete lunatic.
How many of you push your imaginary throttle when watching videos like this?
Yah the wife complains when I watch my horsepower heaven drag racing videos, I dont even realize I’m leaving every time the tree goes green.
