There’s been lots of great action at the 2014 NHRA New England Nationals here in New Hampshire. From the tight competition of the sportsman classes to the thundering fury of the nitro powered cars, it has been a great weekend in Epping. One of the most fun cars to watch (and presumably drive) has been the BB/SA (BB/Stock Automatic) COPO Camaro of Mike Lettelier. This baby has the 427ci naturally aspirated LSx engine in and it has been standing up on the rear bumper since its first lap on Thursday. Luckily for us there’s some great video of the wheelies that you can check out.
The wheelies are kind of in reverse order in the fact that the one where the pair of COPOs takes off actually happened after the one you’ll see that forced Mike to abort his run. We’re just letting you know because if we didn’t we’d never forgive ourselves….or because we a mental and assume that you will care about such things. In the video featuring the “dual” wheelie, the red car is being driven by Bob Lettelier, Mike’s dad. His car was running CC/SA with the 396ci LSx combo. Both cars are flipping sweet.

impressed with how straight it goes wheels up, awesome
Did’nt shut itself off with the defective ignition ? , amazing
What a time wasting thing. Wheels up that much just wastes time and time is the goal of crag racing. The car in the other lane is better set up.
So the car in the other lane was slower why??? haha
Love that you liked and linked the video. However, the first stand with Father and son side by side was final qualifying pass Friday morning, and the second pass, the shut off, was Mike’s .001 reaction time win against a red lighting George LaBelle’s J/SA ’69 Camaro.
