We were among the first people to share with the world the awesome tale of the 572 BBC powered Chevy sleeper truck last year. This thing looks like an elderly owned and cared for pickup that was enhanced by Doctor Evil himself. The truck has been driven, tweaked on, and it is actually entered into competition for Drag Week 2016 where we’ll see the fury of this awesome rig in person.
To prepare for Drag Week Dustin Horner and the boys are out there pounding on the truck both on the street and on the strip as evidenced through this video that was made of the rig’s exploits last weekend at Topeka, Kansas during Street Car Takeover. Kansas was the hot bed of hot rodding last weekend as the Roadkill boys were also having their event down the road.
In this video you’ll make a few runs from the roof of the red pickup as it swallows some competitors whole going down the course. We dig the use of the steel wheels out back and the factory style hubcaps keep it classy as well. Anyone who was unfamiliar with the truck certainly must have been surprised to see the 10-second elapsed times flashing up on the scoreboards when the boxy red brick went down the course.
This thing rules and we cannot wait to see it on Drag Week and perhaps before with even more videos surfacing during “pre event testing”. OOGA BOOGA!
I think that truck was for sale on Bring A Trailer a couple months ago
Sorry to say Its not going to be there this year for DW. I have my sisters wedding and best man in another. I was register last year but had engine trouble the day we left. There’s always 2017!
that engine sounds really good
nice looking ride indeed
I want to see this truck race farm truck on Street Outlaws.
Given the chance I’d love to. Not a prayer at winning though. At least not this year.
