No, this isn’t the record…yet. What you are about to see is the first full quarter mile pass out of the Proline Racing powered, EKanoo Racing Pro Lexus RCF. This thing goes a rip-roaring 5.54/272mph on this run and being that it is the first of what will be a string of passes this week, we could be in for an interest next couple of days if this is the opening shot!
The brain trust on this car is among the most awesome in door slammer drag racing history. It is like the freaking Super Friends with Shane Tecklenburg, Jamie Miller, Josh Ledford, driver Gary White, and likely a couple of other dudes that we’re forgetting here. They have been working to get the car ready, have been making short squirts and finally let the dog off the leash. Their reaction tells you all that you need to know about the run.
The magical numbers that these guys are likely looking for are in the high 5.40s for an all time elapsed time record and over 274mph for a speed record. If they can go 5.46/275 or faster they will have both ends. Something tells us that those numbers won’t survive until the end of the week. These runs are not being made in competition so we guess that they’re “unofficial” but the track that they are running on is world class, has a legit timing system, and is totally on the up and up.
