Back in the late 1980s things were pretty awesome in drag racing. The old guard of drivers were still very much in control of the professional classes but there were youngsters starting to make their mark. The Jimmy Prock’s of the world, the Mike Kloeber’s of the world and others had been clawing up the ranks to match wits with Tim Richards, Dale Armstrong, and others.
The pro stock category was still very much a multi-manufacturer platform with Glidden being the lone Ford runner in a sea of Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles, Chevrolets, and yes, the Mopar contingent was on the way back as well.
This is a cool video because of the fun attitude, the inside stories, and the fact that they really do a nice job in summing up a long season in an hour. Look, it is Thursday and that means you can slack off in the office a little…especially if you are still working from home!
