West Coast Hot Rod Association Holds First Of 2018 Triple Crown Series at Famoso!

(Photography by Jim McCarthy and Paul Fercho) There’s a void out in the West, since both NMCA and PSCA have moved out of the region with their fast door car programs.  Where there’s a void and a bunch of fast door cars, smartly the West Coast Hot Rod Association has stepped up with a Triple Crown Series holding the first at Auto Club Famoso Raceway in the just completed California Shootout, we’ve got the photos.

West Coast Hot Rod Association Series owner Danny Topol and Race Director Tim Rigby are the last ones standing and plan to be there for the long haul.

California Shootout winners at Famoso were Giuseppe Gentile won in Big Tire, Small Tire winner was Ryan “Toaster” Jones’ Nova, Outlaw 8.5 was Manny Figueroa’s Mustang, Ultra Street winner was Dan Dagata’s vintage Mustang, Roger Stalnaker’s old school Corvair took the win in King of the Index and in Super Pro and Pro Greg Dreher was a man on a mission, doubling up in both classes.  Roger Holder (above) in his sleek new Pro Mod Camaro, from Xtreme Pro Mods West, took the class.

Series sponsor King Oil Tools has also stepped up with two more events scheduled for 2018, The WCHRA Battle on June 1-2 at The Strip at Las Vegas and The WCHRA Duel at Tucson Dragway on September 7-8
