We’ve all seen the videos of old X-frame GM cars twisting themselves into knots at the hit of the throttle on the strip. They yank the left front wheel up in the air for a second or two and then settle down to make the rest of their lap. Those videos are awesome but there is a new sheriff in town and he’s an Aussie. The video of this old Holden Monaro launching and then carrying the left front wheel MORE THAN 300 FEET is insane. The car is for all intents and purposes a trike for the first 25% of the quarter mile run. We’ve never seen anything like it before.
The engine appears to be injected on alcohol and for it to make this kind of twist, it has to be a big block. We don’t know for sure, but could it really be a small block causing this car to defy the laws of physics like this?! Despite the twist and circus like appearance of the car on the way down the track, it still runs in the 9.50s and sound very good doing it.
Have you ever seen a car do this lap after lap? We’ve seen thousands of drag cars in our travels around the country and Canada and none, not a single damned one, has ever put on this kind of a show. WILD ACTION!
