We know that Subarus can be fast, but we’re used to the later-model STIs that came to our shores late. In Australia, they got the hot WRX models straight from Japan in the 1990s, and while they were good and nicely underrated, like every other Japanese sporting car of the era thanks to the Gentlemen’s Agreement, they were still four-banger turbo cars, and there’s only so much four cylinders can do before you have to step up to a six cylinder. Case in point is Tony Rigoli Performance’s Subaru Impreza from Australia. Powered by a EG33 Subaru H-6 (the kind you would find in a Subaru SVX) and making one hell of a head of steam, the Scooby has been running for claim of the “World’s Fastest” crown and TRP Performance got it…with the timeslip to prove it!
Did you see that move to the center after the finish line????? It was like he was spinning through the lights and when he let off, the slicks grabbed?????
This is why drag racing is EPIC!!!!! People building stuff because they think it’s cool and making it go fast.
