(Lead photo: engineswapdepot.com) The 2012 footage of this unholy marriage between a fifth-gen Honda Civic hatchback and a 6.0L Powerstroke diesel V8 has been swirling around social media and has been sent to me twenty-seven times in seven hours…that has to be a new record for a “Hey, look at this!” item. Unlike the Corvette/Civic “Civette” hybrid from about the same time period, which makes a little sense (if you squint hard enough), the Powerstroke’d Civic seemed to have come into existence simply to exist. There is no other feasible reason for the swap besides the tried-and-true “because I can” line. I wish I could say there’s tons of information on the car, but so far, all I know is a few pictures, this shakedown footage from Bradenton, and that the car no longer exists. That’s kind of a shame, too. Imagine a Honda Civic showing up at the Diesel Power event and parking next to all of the Rams, Duramaxes and fellow Powerstroke-equipped Fords…
Awesome camera work dude!
I can almost smell your stinkfoot!
I’d have loved to see all that power and torque put through a front wheel drive transmission and this hunka shit destroy itself!
Some things are NOT meant to ever exist – and this is surely one of them.
Now can I go back to prepare myself for yet another display of sheer incompetence as my soccer team, Newcastle United destroy their season.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
That is glorious! Wretched, pointless, automotive excess will always have a place.
Best use of a Civic I’ve seen in a long time.
